I took that as a polite “no”.

He likes the track. Like the heritage. He thinks it has an appeal that a modern purpose built track (built by wealthy governments around the world) just don’t have.
Too bad. There is no dictator in central NY willing to pay The Muppett tens of millions to have a race there.

Why is she holding the microphone down near his belt? Extremely odd, and totally distracted me from the interview. I had to play it again to listen without looking at the screen.

You’re joking? He’s already F1 race director

Yes. I’m joking. I like his sense of history and tradition, and share his dislike for modern tracks. I would love to see F1 at the Glen, and it sounds like he would too. But we both understand the economic realities, or at least, Bernie’s economic realities. It would be refreshing if somebody like Charlie were deciding where they race, not Bernie or the governments that suck up to him.

Bloomberg was Mayor of NYC, not the Governor of NY State. I’m not sure he’s ever been outside of Manhattan or the Hamptons. And when you say ‘East Coast Grand Prix’, he would think you were talking about show horses jumping fences.
Having said that, he could sneeze into a napkin, and the amount of money that would fall out of his pocket would be enough to pay for an East coast GP. (Though I think he’d be more likely to support a Formula E race rather than of F1.)
Bring back Bloomberg anyway. #mayormike #Bloomberg2016

In the 70s and early 80s when there were two grands prix in the US, Watkins Glen was USGP East and Long Beach was USGP West. This New York State thing you’re talking about.... You mean
Up
state? Pretty sure that’s not New York, bruh ;)

They have a NASCAR race at the Glen. That’s as upstate as you get.

Oh yea-they’d have to make the place so full of run off you’d have to watch the race from Elmira.
